What is ABATE's Mission Statement?
We will lobby and educate the government and the general public
to promote motorcycling in a safe and positive image. We will
endeavor to enlist the cooperation and participation of all
organizations and individuals who share a similar interest
in preserving our American tradition of freedom. We will involve
ourselves in fundraising to achieve our goals.
What does ABATE stand for?
A.B.A.T.E. is an acronym which stands for A Brotherhood
Aimed Toward Education.
Nationwide, motorcyclists are under attack from their state
& federal governmenst, insurance companies and a population
with preconceived ideas about motorcyclists. As an organization,
we serve as a central source of information for Nevada's motorcyclists.
A.B.A.T.E. is a political, not-for-profit organization dedicated
to freedom of the road for all motorcyclists from all walks
of life. We are seeking to join together Nevada's motorcycling
community in an effort to work together towards realistic
legislation to ensure safety and freedom of our public roads,
providing motorcycle awareness and safety programs to motorcyclists
and the general public as well as promoting the enjoyment
of motorcycling in general.
A.B.A.T.E. is not affiliated with any particular type of rider
or motorcycle. A.B.A.T.E. is not a CLUB. A.B.A.T.E. is not
a GANG. A.B.A.T.E. is not a SECRET SOCIETY or FRATERNAL GROUP.
You pay a yearly membership fee and get as much out of the
organization as you put into it. There are no mandatory obligations
involved with this organization. You do not have to "prospect"
to become a member. A.B.A.T.E. of Northern Nevada provides
the means for independent riders to come together for a common
cause, to exchange ideas, and have fun with other area motorcyclists.
Let's face it. The people who are making the laws affecting
motorcycling often know little or nothing about motorcycles.
By working together, we can prevent legislation which will
adversely affect our chosen sport or mode of transportation.
Through A.B.A.T.E. of Northern Nevada we can work to present
a positive image of motorcycling, and encourage its continued
growth.
