Red Dead Redemption 2 features numerous hidden secrets across its massive frontier, but few collectibles offer a reward as distinct as the Mended Map. Unlike standard treasure hunts that award gold bars, piecing together this map rewards players with a unique sidearm and collectible items. Finding the treasure requires traversing multiple territories to secure the required map fragments before heading south.

Locating the Two Map Fragments

To assemble the Mended Map, players must defeat two hostile hermits residing on opposite sides of the map. The first fragment is kept inside a nightstand drawer at Manito Glade, located north of Annesburg. The second piece rests inside a cabin at the end of Little Creek River in West Elizabeth, guarded by a hermit woman and her dogs.

Reaching the Hidden Cave Location

Once both pieces are collected, the map directs players to the desert region of New Austin. Journey to Rattlesnake Hollow, which lies northwest of Armadillo in the northern part of Cholla Springs. Near the rocky cliffs, you will discover a small cave entrance hidden along the rock wall.

Claiming Otis Miller's Revolver

Crouch down to step inside the small cavern and locate a wooden chest sitting near the back. Opening the chest reveals Otis Miller's Revolver alongside six collectible erotic photographs. This custom gold and ivory revolver features solid stats and a high rate of fire, making it a valuable addition to your arsenal.

Important Gameplay Considerations

Players should note that New Austin is heavily restricted until reaching the Epilogue of the main story. Trying to enter the region earlier will result in relentless lawmen tracking you down immediately. While you can collect the map pieces early in your playthrough, waiting until the late game ensures a safe trip to claim your prize.
